This website has been developed as a project of the Safer Dancing Committee.  

The Safer Dancing Committee are a partnership/inter-agency group consisting of Council, PSNI, Licensed Premises, NDACT, Local Community Groups and the Community Safety Partnership. 

The group was formed in September 1999.  This project was the first of its kind and has been used as a pioneer scheme devolved to other Council areas.

The overall aim/rationale of this group is to provide a cohesive and safer service to patrons of places of entertainment within the Coleraine Borough Council Area.  As a group the Committee:

• Provide training for staff at entertainment venues
  
  
• Develop best practice and apply it consistently
  
  
• Identify and tackle community concerns around drug and/or alcohol issues
  
  
• Use an interagency approach to address the special needs and concerns of young adults.
