Code Of Practice For Door Supervisors
You must carry your Registration Card with you when on duty and allow it to be inspected by Police Officers or Authorised Officers of Coleraine Borough Council when on duty. Failure to comply with the Code of Practice may result in the loss of "Approved" status.
Registration must be renewed every three years.
The Registration Card and any other badge or documentation provided to Door Supervisors under the Scheme remain the property of the Scheme and must be returned to the Door Supervisor Registration Scheme Committee if "Approved" status is withdrawn.
The Coleraine and District Door Supervisors Registration Scheme accepts no liability for any act carried out or negligence by any Door Supervisor approved by the Committee.
All applicants for registration must comply with registration selection process. Committee decisions are final.
USE OF FORCE Always try and resolve conflicts without using force. Force should only be used as a last resort and then only the minimum force necessary to restrain or eject any person. You must never carry or use any weapon in the course of your duty. A weapon includes any object that could be used or has been adapted to be used as a weapon.
All incidents in which you are involved must be brought to the attention of the person in charge of the premises without delay and recorded.
INFORMATION SEMINAR You must when required attend any information seminar organised by the Coleraine and District Door Supervisors Registration Scheme.
POLICE, FIRE AND DISTRICT COUNCIL OFFICERS You should always co-operate fully with Police Officers, Fire Officers and Authorised Officers of Coleraine Borough Council in the lawful execution of their duty. You should always allow the lawful access of Police Officers and other Authorised Officers to licensed premises without delay.
LICENSING LAWS You must comply with the Liquor Licensing Law and report any breach of that Law to the person in charge of the premises.
ALCOHOL / DRUGS You should not at any time whilst on duty be unfit through drink or drugs. You must not drink alcohol whilst carrying out duties as a Door Supervisor.
SAFETY Where the maximum number of persons allowed in the premises is fixed by Coleraine Borough Council, you should be aware of that number. In any case, you should control the number of persons admitted to the premises so as to prevent overcrowding.
You should give assistance to any person on the premises who is injured or distressed.
INCIDENTS Any incident in which you become involved in or witness should be reported to the Police and if required to do so during the course of a criminal investigation provide a statement of evidence.
